What is purebred ragdoll cats?
A purebred Ragdoll is a cat whose parents and ancestry are documented as Ragdolls through a recognized pedigree/registry, such as TICA, CFA, or another established cat association.
Because the Ragdoll breed has defined breeding standards, breeders select cats over generations for characteristics such as:
Large, substantial body structure
Semi-long, soft coat
Distinctive Ragdoll color and pattern
Blue eyes
Slow physical development and maturity
Characteristic head and facial structure
Generally gentle, people-oriented temperament
Importantly, appearance alone does not establish pedigree. A non-pedigreed cat can look extremely similar to a Ragdoll.
As they grow, factors such as body size and structure, coat quality, head shape, eye color, overall conformation, and temperament can develop quite differently. A traditional purebred Ragdoll from carefully established bloodlines is bred to preserve the breed’s characteristic appearance, substantial size, and famously gentle and affectionate temperament throughout adulthood.

For this reason, we believe it is important for families who are looking for a true traditional Ragdoll to understand not only how a kitten looks today, but also its pedigree, bloodline, breeding background, and expected development as an adult.
